Nintendo, a former playing card company in Japan, burst onto the video game scene in the 1980s with its first console that found its way into millions of homes in the United States.
Their latest creation, the family-friendly Wii, took the 21st Century video game world by storm in December of 2006, becoming arguably the second biggest hit in the company’s history, behind its original machine. The Wii launched itself past Sony’s PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox products to become the leader in the industry shortly after its introduction. With its backwards compatibility to play the previous Nintendo creation, the GameCube, the Nintendo Wii is one of the most highly sought after game systems in the world.
The Wii continues to delight players of all ages, as evidenced by videos on YouTube of players across all generations playing on the easy-to-learn console.
