    Has winter arrived early in Indiana or what? A high temp of 30 degrees today and snow on the ground this morning. My brother from Texas and sister from South Carolina are going to love this! Back home again in Indiana! Normal averages are supposed to be in the high 40's around this time. We just may have a white Thanksgiving. Everyone's in town early for Rowan's baptism on Sunday. Grandpa Jeff will do the honors at St. Mark's UMC in Decatur. Rowan's godparents are Depune and Tera. This weekend will be the first time Rowan meets her Uncle Christian, Aunt Sharon, Aunt Shiloh and cousins Ella and Grace. Big family gathering! Lots of great picture updates early next week, no doubt. Mercifully the last IU football game is this weekend. The Bucket Game between Purdue and IU will kickoff at noon in West Lafayette. Both teams have had pretty disappointing seasons. A win would be redemption for either squad. A win for IU could also keep Billy Boy around another year, Purdue's coach Tiller is already retiring after this one. [IUHoosiers.com] Redskins take their two game losing streak to the west coast vs. the Seattle Seahawks. If there's one team that would know Coach Zorn's tendencies, it's Seattle. He was the QB coach there the last 5 years or so. Seems the book is out on Zorn's offense, scoring only 16 total points the last two games. Hopefully they can turn this around. The 1 year anniversary of the murder of Sean Taylor is next Thursday, that should be some motivation for these guys. [Washington Post] Like Rowan says, it's time for Hoops. IU's men's team is off to a 2-0 start. We need to get as many wins as possible. I'm still trying to learn these guys faces and names! Walk-ons starting at PG? This is going to be a tough season. They're in Hawaii for the Maui Invitational next week. They tip off the tournament vs. Notre Dame on Monday afternoon. We can only hope for a 2-1 finish to the tournament (more likely 1-2 really). Here's a glory days link for the 1987 National Championship team. That win at Michigan was pretty amazing that year. We still need to see Quantum of Solace, but got an excellent guest review from David Hill, who's a huge Bond, James Bond fan. [Washington Post] I remember when I got to Japan in 1994 how strange it was to have two containers for trash: marked burnable and non-burnable. Obviously one was for recyclable stuff and the other one was for burning. With no land for landfills, the Japanese burn the majority of their trash. Their trash burning technology is amazing and potentially quite 'green'. When Brooke and I were there last November, the receptacles for trash were everywhere. All places had spots to separate and collect your glass, aluminum, paper, and trash. Shows you can recycle if you want to (or in their case NEED to).     Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones has been reinstated by the NFL, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. Jones will miss two more games, Sunday's game against San Francisco and the team's Thanksgiving Day game against Seattle. Jean-Jacques Taylor of the Dallas Morning News writes that thanks to the NFL, Adam Jones has another opportunity to embarrass the NFL, the Cowboys and his own family. Bengals to Deactive Chad Johnson For violating an undisclosed team rule, the Cincinnati Bengals will deactivate wide receiver Chad Johnson for tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Solid citizen Chris Henry will start in his stead. NFC News and Notes Cowboys rookie running back Felix Jones returned to practice on Wednesday. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo paid for a homeless man to get into the movies. The New York Giants secondary views Sunday's game against Arizona as a chance to gain respect. Giants running back Brandon Jacobs expects to play on Sunday. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is in "Woe is Donovan" mode. Eagles safety Brian Dawkins says he wasn't aware of the overtime rules, either. Washington Redskins wide receiver Malcolm Kelly may be active on Sunday against Seattle. Redskins running back Clinton Portis expects to play this Sunday. Redskins head coach Jim Zorn addressed the anniversary of Sean Taylor's death. Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris has played inspired football since returning from a spleen injury. Packers wide receiver Donald Driver's father was involved in a run-in with the Houston police department. Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Pat and Kevin Williams will meet with the NFL today to appeal their four-game suspensions. Vikings tackle Artis Hicks will replace Ryan Cook at right tackle. Former Vikings wide receiver Troy Williamsons wants to "duke it out" with head coach Brad Childress at midfield. Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White missed practice on Wednesday. The Falcons are confident they can solve whatever the Carolina Panthers run defense throws at them. Carolina Panthers guard Jeremy Bridges has an irregular heartbeat, and has quit chewing tobacco, which may have caused it. New Orleans Saints tight end Mark Campbell was placed on injured reserve. The lawyer for three Saints said none of his clients took steroids. With Earnest Graham landing on injured reserve, the bulk of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers running game falls to Warrick Dunn. The Buccaneers signed running back Noah Herron for depth. Arizona Cardinals running back Edgerrin James has asked for his release. Dan Bickley of The Arizona Republic writes that James is distracting the team and its fans before the biggest game of the season. Seattle Seahawks defensive end Patrick Kerney was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday. Original Seahawks quarterback Jim Zorn returns home on Sunday, writes Clare Farnsworth. St. Louis Rams head coach Jim Haslett wants his players to get back to the physical style of play they had when he took over as head coach. Haslett also said that quarterback Marc Bulger isn't going anywhere and is hopeful tackle Orlando Pace will return soon. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill is a gamer, writes Gwen Knapp of the San Francisco Chronicle. 49ers rookie guard Chilo Rachal is expected to start at right guard against Dallas on Sunday. AFC News and Notes New England Patriots linebacker Pierre Woods has stepped in for the injured Adalius Thomas. Patriots running back Kevin Faulk has been emulating Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown during practice this week. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Josh Reed returned to practice on Wednesday. Bills quarterback Trent Edwards isn't letting his three-interception performance against Cleveland affect his confidence. Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington has earned his teammates respect. The Dolphins will switch up their "Wildcat" plays for their second meeting against New England. New York Jets quarterback Brett Favre's story isn't as good as Kerry Collins', writes Newsday's Shaun Powell. Jets cornerback Ty Law showed little rust last week against New England. The left side of the Cincinnati Bengals offensive line will miss tonight's game against Pittsburgh. If the Bengals hope to have a chance at winning, they'll need to stop Willie Parker. Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis is on pace to eclipse his 1,300-yard season from 2007. Browns quarterback Brady Quinn has a fracture in his right index finger, but isn't expected to miss any time. The Baltimore Ravens defensders are wary of Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb's scrambling ability. Ravens cornerback Samari Rolle says he'll play on Sunday. Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley would love to fatten their sack totals against the Bengals tonight. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette previews tonight's Steelers-Bengals game. Houston Texans defensive end Earl Cochran was placed on injured reserve. The Texans will bring an 8-game road losing streak with them to Cleveland on Sunday. Despite his desire to fight his former head coach, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Troy Williamson will miss Sunday's game with a groin injury. Jaguars center Brad Meester won the team's Ed Block Courage Award and was nominated for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year award. Tennessee Titans defensive Kyle Vanden Bosch is looking forward to returning to action. A text messaging system at Lucas Oil Stadium will help the team weed out fans displaying rude behavior. The Colts are expected to have the same offensive line for a 5th straight game on Sunday. The decision by the San Diego Chargers to stick with head coach Norv Turner was a sound one, writes Nick Canepa of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
